Protecting the Earth Through Pollution Prevention

Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22nd and all are encouraged to take action to preserve and protect the Earth’s natural resources. Pollution prevention is an approach to environmental protection that focuses on eliminating or reducing pollution at its source. Here are a few simple things that you can do at home to protect our community:

  • Only flush the 3 P’s – Pee, Poop, and Paper
  • Reduce waste by consuming less and buying only what’s needed
  • Reuse containers for food and refillable bottles for water to avoid single-use items
  • Recycle items like cans, paper, and cardboard
  • Properly dispose of household hazardous waste at the collection facility at 4797 Imhoff Place https://MVSD.org/HHWF

And if you’re looking to get outside and help the community, join a local cleanup event. MVSD will be hosting a cleanup of McNabney Marsh in April. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and stay tuned for details!
