State of the District

A digital arrow hits a target hologram, surrounded by upward arrows, symbolizing growth and success.

Mt. View Sanitary District hosted our Annual Strategic Planning Workshop on December 6, 2024.  The Workshop includes a review of the District’s progress in meeting the goals and objectives for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 and the District’s status as expressed through the District’s mission and vision.

The District’s mission is to protect public health and the environment, in a safe and reliable manner, at a reasonable cost. In support of our mission, MVSD proudly reported no negative public impacts, no regulatory enforcement actions or fines, and no negative environmental impacts to receiving waters from District operations.

The 2024 goals of the Sanitary Sewer Management Plan and the Collection System capital projects were executed successfully and remain on target. Two Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects were completed in 2024: Phase 2 of the Pipeline Cleaning and Televising and the UV Disinfection Replacement. In the collection system, 222,364 ft of the mainline were cleaned and captured on video. This is on track for cleaning the entire system every 1 – 1 ½ years. The District has a total of 400,382 linear feet, or 75.8 miles, of mainlines. The UV Disinfection Replacement upgraded the existing UV disinfection equipment and controls with new equipment and controls, the monorail crane and its structure, the reclaimed water pumping system, flowmeters, effluent gates, motor control center, and various other automation, electrical, and SCADA upgrades.

Customer service, public education, information, and outreach continue to be a primary focus with interactions with the community through clean-up events and our social media platforms, quarterly newsletters, environmental education, and overall transparency.

Mt. View Sanitary District is proud to serve the public and committed to our continuing mission.
